Zuleka traveled to Union Springs, Alabama with her cousin Helen Steed where they discovered letters from Alexander Hamilton Pickett and Virginia Eliza Powell. Helen insisted the letters be burned. From telephone conversation with Lilree Ogburn Jackson on 6 Dec 1993.
Mimi remembers that Zuleka was always knitting. She even got married in an outfit she had knitted. Mimi attended the wedding at the home of Sands and Aunt Nan Weems. [6]
